If you’re a bit strapped for cash or you’re not willing to drop hundreds of hard earned dollars for a smartphone that will be obsolete in a few months, HTC may have something for you with the HTC Explorer, an Android smartphone whose specs scream “budget”.

It’s not too shabby and it will probably get the job done, although we’re thinking that phone fanatics will probably just brush this one aside. The HTC Explorer will be running on a 600MHz processor and will sport a 3.2” display with 480×320 resolution, 384MB of RAM and 512MB of internal storage. It will also come with a 5MP camera and will be running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3, so all in all, it should prove to be a value for money device, especially if you’re shopping on a budget.

No word on when the device is expected to hit, but it could be announced at the HTC event that is coming up on the 20th of September 2011.
