GameStop considering making their own tablet

Published

GameStop, a company known for games (as the name implies) has recently added iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPod touch and the iPad to their line up, especially since mobile gaming on smartphones has taken off in a big way. Now it seems that the company is contemplating launching their own branded tablet that is targeted at gamers specifically.

It will be running on Android and at the moment it looks like the tablet is under testing and should be out some time next year if all goes well. It is expected to be able to stream console games onto it and will come with a dedicated controller as well. Unfortunately no word on price, but if all goes well could GameStop’s tablet prove to be an a serious alternative to other mobile gaming platforms such as the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation’s upcoming Vita? I guess we will have to wait and find out!
