Apple to start letting retail employees “check out” iPads

Back in 2007 when the first iPhone came out, all Apple employees were lucky enough to receive one for free. We’re guessing Apple was hoping that with all their employees sporting the device, it would generate a lot of curiosity and we guess it paid off. Now it seems that Apple has plans to launch a new program where the will allow retail staff to “check out” iPads for a week at a time, much like how you check out books at the library.

It has been suggested that this was a move to allow their retail staff to better learn about iOS 5 before it has been launched. Doesn’t seem so generous now, does it? With iOS 5 reportedly launching next month, we guess that Apple is trying to get their staff up to speed ASAP.
