Sprint tells dealers not to talk about iPhone 5

Recently there was a report written up by Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that suggested that Sprint would be one of the carriers that would be getting the iPhone 5. Prior to that there have been rumors also suggesting that Sprint has been undergoing testing for the iPhone 5. Whether you believe it or not, it seems that Sprint has sent out a memo to their dealers letting them know what to say should a customer enquires about the iPhone 5.

The response? “No comment.” It was also mentioned that the dealers should acknowledge that there have been reports should they get asked, but not to confirm anything. Some are speculating that if Sprint really wasn’t getting the iPhone 5, they should ask the dealers to suggest another brand of phone, and all this “no comment” business sounds like something those involved with Apple say.

What do you guys think? Wouldn’t Sprint have come out and flatly denied the report if it wasn’t true?
