RIM to launch Blackberry Management Center

Published

on

If you are an enterprise user, RIM has launched a free online service that will help businesses manage their Blackberry devices centrally and in the cloud. The idea behind this is to provide protection of the contents saved on the devices. Larger companies probably have BES up and running already and it seems that RIM’s new service, the BlackBerry Management Center is targeted at smaller companies who may not need or have the funds necessary to set up BES at their premises.

The service will provide wireless backing up of the data on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, and will also allow remote locking of the device should the device get lost or stolen, along with the ability to wipe the data.

The service is expected to launch mid-August.
