Motorola Kore is not a tablet, it’s a fitness device

Remember a while back we reported on a Motorola Kore device? We speculated at that time that it could possibly be a smartphone or even a tablet. In fact we reported on other speculations that the Kore could be the name for the successor to the Motorola Xoom tablet.

As it turns out we were wrong on both counts. It is neither a tablet nor a smartphone, but rather it is a fitness device that can be worn as a watch and monitor your vitals during your workout. Here’s what the trademark for the Kore name says:

“ELECTRONIC NON MEDICAL PORTABLE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY MONITOR AND FITNESS DEVICE FOR MEASURING MOVEMENTS, INDIVIDUAL’S ENERGY EXPENDITURE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL AND ACCESSORIES THEREFORE, NAMELY, HEADPHONES; SOFTWARE FOR DEVELOPING AND MONITORING PERSONAL ACTIVITY AND EXERCISE PLANS, TRAINING PLANS, TRAINING GOALS AND GIVING FEEDBACK ON THE ACHIEVED RESULTS”.

Motorola Xoom 2 and smartphone hopefuls, are you guys disappointed?
