iPhone 5 mockup based on leaked case design

A couple of days ago there was a purported leak of what appeared to be case designs for the next-generation iPhone. As we had posted earlier, we can’t say for sure where these case manufacturers got their sources from and whether they know something that we don’t, or if they’re just trying their luck and hope that they come close to the actual mark.

Anyway it seems that this did not stop some people from attempting to design a mockup for the device based on the case specifications. A user bikr came up with the design above  which tried to stay as close as possible to the design specs of the case which resulted in a very slim looking phone with a newly designed home button.

If you thought that the home button looked familiar, it’s because it’s the same button that was reported back in April about possible rumors that the home button would perform double duties as an area for gestures as well. We have to admit we like the design but the thinness might be a bit uncomfortable in the long run, but I guess we will have to wait and see what Apple produces.
