HTC invests $300 million into Beats Electronics

HTC has just announced that they are investing $300 million into Beats Electronics. The same company behind the Beats by Dre series of headphones and in-ear headphones. What does this mean for the handset manufacturer? Well it seems that they plan to take the sound technology used by Beats and incorporate them into their handsets, and they are claiming that we should be seeing the first Beats certified handset by the end of the year.

Given that sound quality on smartphone speakers aren’t exactly considered to be amazing despite manufacturer claims, let’s hope that with by incorporating Beats technology into their range of devices, HTC will be able to put out smartphones/tablets with sound systems that could potentially match the quality given off by conventional speakers.
