AT&T anticipating October iPhone 5 release?

Yesterday we reported on a rumor that the next-generation iPhone will only be seeing a release in October, which is a month after the previously rumored September release. Well it seems that another rumor has popped regarding AT&T which sort of corroborates the October iPhone 5 release date.

According to the new rumor, it appears that AT&T have told their staff that they will not be able to take leave and to reschedule their vacations come the last two weeks of September, as the carrier would be requiring all hands on deck for something big that is about to happen. Sure there are tons of great Android devices out in the market today, with some headed towards AT&T, but the only device that will be able to cause such hype and require a huge amount of manpower would be Apple’s much anticipated iPhone 5.

Granted that this is just a rumor and speculation but given that AT&T can definitely expect long queues and overnight campers for the iPhone 5, it does make sense for them to have all hands on deck. What do you think? Is this AT&T rumor related to the iPhone 5 or is it something else all together?
