4G LTE equipment spotted in Apple stores

There were rumors a few days ago that said that carriers were testing out an LTE iPhone. Now it seems that a tipster has sent in photos to Engadget (which has since been removed) that 4G LTE equipment has been installed in a major Apple store by AT&T. The equipment supports 700MHz and AWS bands, both of which are planned to be used by AT&T for their LTE networks should the T-Mobile acquisition go through.

So what does this mean? Steve Jobs has personally said that there would be no LTE in 2011, so could Apple just be installing the equipment for testing purposes or did Steve Jobs say that on purpose just to throw us off? Given that 4G LTE is starting to become more available, it would not be a stretch to imagine that Apple has plans to put out an LTE capable iPhone, but whether we will be seeing LTE in the iPhone 5 remains to be seen.
