Windows Phone 7 Marketplace Reaches 25,000 Apps

Android Market is growing along with Apple’s very own iTunes App Store and it’s not surprising, considering that both these two platforms are currently dominating the smartphone market. What’s surprising is that according to an app tracker, the Windows Phone Marketplace has just passed 25,000 applications in its store. We’re guessing that all the hype about the Mango update and the slew of promised Windows Phone 7 devices from a variety of manufacturers, especially Nokia, may have renewed the faith in developers regarding Microsoft’s smartphone platform.

We can’t be sure if they will be playing catch up to Android or iOS any time soon but it’s still a good sign. Hopefully the increasing Windows Phone Marketplace will also manage to attract not only developers, but customers as well who may have felt that the Marketplace was a bit lacking in the past.
