Twitter for Android receives a major update

Published

Good news Twitter addicts, it looks like the app for Android has finally been updated and along with the update comes push notifications and the ability to add multiple accounts. The last feature was apparently requested by many users, so it’s a good thing that Twitter listened to their users and finally added the feature.

It seems that push notifications have been missing from the official app and third party apps, but now that it’s here on the official app, it means that users will now be able to receive updates instead of having to constantly refresh, which is a drain on the phone’s battery, not to mention unnecessary fetching of data.

Multiple accounts also now allow Twitter users to start moving over to the official app instead of relying on third party apps. We wonder what other features Twitter has planned for its official Android app, but it appears that they’re on their way to creating a pretty good app overall.
