SMS features found on Google+

Google+ has been growing, and Google has not forgotten developing countries such as India. In fact Google+ has thought about the demographics in India, and realized that not many people living in India own smartphones, but rather feature phones, which is why they have enabled an SMS feature for Google+, whereby notifications and updates will get sent to the user on their phone via SMS.

It will work both ways, as users will also be able to update their status by texting the update to a dedicated number. Granted this provides very limited function, but it does what social networking does, which is to connect people. However it looks like they will not be able to browse/receive photos on feature phones (unless through the use of MMS), but perhaps this will change over time.
