Samsung Galaxy Player Offered As Android-Based Home Phone In Korea

As we all know, Archos has recently launched several new devices and one of them was a Android-based home phone system. Well Samsung is looking to follow in their footsteps with the Samsung Galaxy Player, which is actually a portable media player (PMP). It will be known as the Galaxy 070 and unlike the Archos phone (DECT), this is more of a PMP which has VoIP capabilities.

Internally it’s reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, except a bit bigger and has no cellular radio capabilities, but everything else remains largely similar. It will feature a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 3-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory with a memory card slot for future expansion.

At the moment it looks like it’s only available in Korea, no word on when this device will be hitting the States, if it ever comes at all.
