Russia may ban iPad for use in the government

It seems that according to the Russian news, the Russian government may be planning to ban the iPad for use in the government, citing security as one of the reasons. It’s a bit odd considering that there has been recent commercials that are campaigning for the return of Putin, with iPad 2’s being hinted as possible prizes. The Russian government are said to be contemplating either Blackberry or possibly even Android as their tablet of choice.

Even though Android seems to be subject to more malware than iOS, we’re guessing the open source system will allow the government more flexibility. However the reports have also indicated that perhaps the government may come up with a device of their own instead. We’re surprised as this is probably one of the rarer moments where iOS is being dumped due to security reasons. What do you guys think?
