New Android Market hits the streets

Published

on

As promised back in Google I/O, the latest version of Android Market has hit the streets, bringing with it a new design, which some are saying is reminiscent of the tile layout found on the Windows Phone 7 platform. Regardless whether Google did indeed draw some inspiration from WP7, the fact of the matter is that it’s finally here.

Along with the new design, the new Android Market gives users the ability to browse and purchase movies and books straight from the market, much like how you would buy an app. At the moment it looks like the new market isn’t just device specific, although it appears that the new app market has not yet been optimized for the Honeycomb 3.0 platform just yet.

If you’re looking to get your hands on the new APK, it seems that the folks down at XDA have them available in their forums.
