LG confirms Retina display for iPad 3?

Granted the iPad 2 was only released a couple of months ago, it seems that the rumors have already started churning away at the possibility of an iPad 3. Naturally there will be a successor to Apple’s wildly popular tablet, although as to when, that remains to be seen. If Apple’s schedule is like clockwork, we could very well be seeing it the same time next year, although certain rumors have pointed at it being released this year. The same rumors are also calling it the iPad HD, but I guess with all things Apple, we will have to wait.

Now it seems that part of the mystery surrounding the iPad 3 has been revealed, and according to the Korea Times, by none other than LG’s CEO himself, who confirmed that LG will be one of the companies that will supply Apple with Retina displays for their iPad 3. If it’s coming from the CEO himself, there should be some measure of truth behind his words, although we’re not sure if Apple will be too happy about him spilling the beans this early, even if Retina display was already expected to be seen on the iPad 3.
