Is the Samsung Galaxy S II in limbo?

If you’re living in the States and you’ve been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy S II, there have been rumors stirring that despite being spotted at the FCC, which some had thought to mean that the device will be hitting the shelves soon, the Galaxy S II is currently in limbo.

The rumors are saying that the major carriers are dragging on the negotiations with Samsung, claiming that Motorola and HTC have improved CDMA radios over Samsung’s, which is why they would prefer to work with those manufacturers when it comes to flagship models.

With Motorola and HTC having devices that could potentially compete with the Galaxy S II, the last thing carriers want is to have an overcrowded lineup. However, for carriers not to bring in the sequel to the best selling smartphone of last year seems a little far fetched. Granted that other countries in the world are already enjoying the Galaxy S II, we’re guessing it’s only a matter of time before those living in the States will be able to enjoy the device as well.
