iPad favored over Android for business use

In terms of smartphone platform, Android definitely has the edge over iOS, no doubts about that. However it appears that when it comes to preferred tablet operating systems for businesses, iOS has the lead.

According to enterprise software maker, Good Technology, the iPad accounted for 27.2% of all activations of its software, as opposed to Android’s 24.4%. This is also the first time iOS has the lead over Android. The stats also say that the iPad and iPad 2 account for 97% of all tablet activations, which seems like a bit of an exaggeration, although it’s not secret that the iPad and the iPhone boosted Apple’s earnings last quarter.

It’s a bit odd how the iPad is becoming a contender within the enterprise market as it has generally been marketed as a consumer product, aimed at individuals rather than businesses.
