HTC Kingdom to be rebranded Hero 4G

A couple of months ago, the HTC Kingom was leaked in a ROM by 911Sniper, but as it turns out, the device may actually be renamed to the HTC Hero 4G, which is the successor to Sprint’s Hero device. The evidence seems to point at the DLNA test certificate which referred to the device as the Hero 4G.

For those who are wondering, the device is more or less the HTC EVO 3D, minus the gimmicky cameras and glasses-free 3D display. So for those of you on Sprint’s network who are looking to get their hands on a device without the 3D novelty, then perhaps the Hero 4G might be the device for you, and it is speculated that it could even be $50 cheaper on contract. No word on when the device is scheduled to make an appearance but we’re hoping not too far off, and we’re also hoping that HTC will keep to their word and unlock the device’s bootloader.
