HTC Desire Gingerbread update should be coming by the end of the month

A while back we had reported that HTC had come out and said that they would not be able to upgrade the current version of Android on the HTC Desire from Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3. Naturally this did not sit well with many HTC Desire users, especially since one of the reasons was because the Sense UI was taking up too much memory, which was why the device could not be upgraded.

Due to the immense amount of backlash HTC received, they quickly turned around and said that they would be bringing Gingerbread 2.3 to the HTC Desire after all. The good news is that apparently the testing of Gingerbread on the HTC Desire has been going pretty well, which means HTC Desire owners should be receiving the update by the end of the month, if everything goes according to plan.
