Google Voice adds spam filter

Good news users of Google Voice! It looks like you will now be able to say goodbye to annoying telemarketers and and bitter ex’s, thanks to the new spam filter that Google Voice has recently added. The process is automatic and can be enabled on the Calls tab of Google Voice settings by checking the box next to Global SPAM filtering, which will apparently work for text messages too.

This is thanks in part to all the Google Voice users out there who have been marking annoying telephone numbers as spam on a daily basis, so why not do your part too? Got an annoying call by a telemarketer? Mark as spam! Soon calls from gyms trying to sign you up for memberships and telemarketers trying to sell your long-distance phone plans will be history.
