DroidKungFu Malware Avoids Detection

Published

on

If you ever needed a reason not to download your Android apps from third party websites, perhaps the DroidKungFu malware evolution might be able to scare some sense into you. We had reported on this malware a while back, and basically what the malware does is it hides itself in seemingly legit applications, but when installed could technically give hackers control of your phone. It is a rather nasty piece of work, and even worse now as it has managed to “evolve”, making it even harder to be detected.

It has also apparently become more difficult to reverse engineer and analyze, although this should probably be a lesson not to download dodgy apps or download apps from black market app stores. The Android Market might be your best bet but even some times malware can slip past, so checking the ratings and comments to make sure you’re downloading a legit app will also go a long way in securing your device.
