Did Apple place 15 million iPhone 5 orders from Pegatron?

It’s only a couple of months away from the supposed iPhone 5 launch, which some are speculating to be any time from August till October. Of course there are some who just flat-out don’t believe that there will be an iPhone 5 this year, but either way, the rumor mill is still busy churning away.

The latest rumor as reported by Digitimes has said that Apple has recently placed an order for 15 million iPhone 5’s with Pegatron Technology. Pegatron, for those who are unfamiliar, are a manufacturing company better known for laptop production through links with ASUS,  and the reason why this rumor may even hold the slightest grain of truth, is because Pegatron is already setup for iPhone production, as they have shipped nearly 4 million CDMA iPhone 4 devices in the past.

Naturally no word from Pegatron regarding this matter, but as usual with all rumors, they are best taken with a grain of salt.
