Dell Streak gets pulled from shelves for update

If you’ve been meaning to get your hands on the Dell Streak, it looks like you may be out of luck for now as the device has apparently be pulled from shelves as well as Dell’s online store. It was a pretty quiet move with no fuss, and some have thought that perhaps the device had been discontinued.

Thanks to Engadget’s due diligence, they called up Dell pretending to be a potential customer who wanted to order the Streak, and was instead told that the Streak has not been discontinued, but rather it has been pulled from the shelves to receive an update.

No word on what exactly the update is about, or why they could not have done it via OTA or through the user’s PC, but it seems that if it all goes according to plan, the Streak will be back early August, until then, it appears that orders aren’t even being taken for the device right now.
