Control your gadgets away from home via your iPhone with iRemocon

While not exactly the most creative name, iRemocon does exactly what you think it does – remotely control your gadgets via your iPhone. It only works with IR controlled gadgets, for example televisions, radios, air-con, etc. It’s a pretty straightforward system and doesn’t look complicated to set up.

Basically all you would have to do is connect the iRemocon device to the net, synch your remote controlled devices with it, install the iRemocon app onto your iPhone, and supposedly you’ll be all set and good to go. It sounds like a pretty handy device, for example on a hot summer’s day you could turn on the air conditioning while you’re on the way home so by the time you reach home, you house will be all nice and cool.

It could even double up as a possible security feature, for example while you’re out, you could turn on/off your stereo system at random intervals, so that potential burglars will think that somebody is at home and will stay away. The device is unfortunately only available in Japan and will retail for 26,800 Yen which roughly converts to $330.
