Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 set for August release?

If you’re still a RIM/Blackberry loyalist/fan, then you should be pleased to know that the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 should be arriving in a month or two. Several online retailers have set the release date to August, while Amazon in the UK has decided to play it safe by putting a September release date. Of course, none of these dates actually confirm anything, but since these retailers deal with RIM, they probably know a couple of things that we don’t.

The 9900 is also looking to set a new standard in terms of Blackberry devices, featuring a 1.2GHz processor, the first of its kind for Blackberry, as well as a 2.8-inch touch screen display, along with the trademark QWERTY keyboard while running on Blackberry OS 7. Measuring in at 10.5mm thick, it will also be the thinnest Blackberry device to date.

While we can’t say for sure that the 9900 will catapult RIM back to its former glory days, the 1.2GHz should be a selling point for those who are still on the fence.
