AT&T to start throttling data speeds in October

As we all know, AT&T is prepping their networks for 4G LTE and according to recent reports, it appears that they will also be throttling data speeds of their biggest data users to ensure stability of their network for their first LTE devices which they are expecting to launch later this year.

This is apparently pretty common practice as other carriers such as Virgin throttle download speeds to 256kbps whenever the user exceeds 2.5GB of data. For the most part this should be good news for regular users as it ensure network stability, and we’re guessing the only people who might be slightly peeved about this would be those who use their data in excess.
