ASUS acknowledges power drain on Eee Pad Transformer, and also working on Honeycomb 3.2 update

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablet has been extremely successful, even selling out a couple of times. However it seems that when attaching the tablet to the accompanying keyboard dock, there have been problems regarding power draining and charging. Since we don’t own the Transformer, can any of our readers out there confirm this issue with us?

Anyway, it seems that ASUS has kept silent regarding the issue until lately when they announced on their UK Facebook page, finally acknowledging the issue.

Apologies to anyone who has encountered issues with their Transformer keyboard dock (power drain and charging). The issue is related to the way we configured the device’s power management in/out of sleep mode. We will shortly be announcing details on how this will be resolved for our customers.

No word on when they plan to offer a solution to their customers and the answers they gave were pretty vague, but either way it’s good that they acknowledged it, so I guess Transformer owners will just have to wait.

The good news is that it seems that the Eee Pad Transformer will be getting the Android Honeycomb 3.2 update. The company claims that they are testing the update now and will release it soon. We won’t be surprised if the fix to the problem will come along with the Honeycomb 3.2 update.
