Will Microsoft Launch Windows 8 Tablets?

When it comes to tablets the main platforms these days that users can choose from is either Apple’s iOS iPad or a huge array of Android devices, and perhaps even a couple of Blackberry Playbook users, so it’s really not such a surprise to hear that Microsoft may want in too, and according to Digitimes:

Microsoft is reportedly considering to launch an own-brand tablet PC that features Windows 8 by the end of 2012 with cooperation from Texas Instruments and Taiwan-based OEMs/ODMs.

While this is just a rumor it’s not a totally baseless one, in fact when Microsoft announced Windows 8, judging by its design, Microsoft had mobility in mind when they created Windows 8. In fact if Microsoft had no plans to make a tablet then that would be more surprising. Either way if what Digitimes had reported was true, there’s still quite a way to go before we start seeing some leaks about it. Until then Windows fans will just have to use their imagination.
