Vodafone Wants To Make A Facebook Phone?

Published

on

It looks like Vodafone is set to follow in the footsteps of other Facebook integrated smartphones out there, such as the HTC ChaCha, and very much like the HTC ChaCha, Vodafone’s version of their Facebook phone will feature a QWERTY keyboard with a touchscreen display in candy bar form, along with a Facebook logo.

Nothing is confirmed at the moment and Vodafone has declined to comment on the speculations either. Interestingly enough other speculations have pointed that this device will not be running on the Android operating system, which is what the HTC ChaCha is running on at the moment, but instead they might find a different operating system to be used in the device.

The device is also set to be more affordable than the HTC ChaCha, providing a cheaper alternative to the Android phone.

One has to question how much of a Facebook fan you have to be to get a device that is dedicated to Facebook. Granted social networking is a big part of our lives now but do we really need to update our status and comment on phones even while on the move?
