USB Cooking Pot Cooks Food And Charges Your Phone

Camping can be fun but it’s got to be scary when you’re in the middle of the woods and your phone dies because it’s out of battery. How then do you propose you make your SOS calls should the need come up? You and I both know very well that power plugs are few and far between in the woods so perhaps this USB cooking pot may very well be the solution for you.

The pot is nothing special, it’s a typical pot, with the exception of a USB port meaning that you can actually plug in, say, an iPhone cable and charge your iPhone through the pot, which generates the necessary power to charge your device through fire that you would use to cook your food with.

TES NewEnergyCorporation, the company behind the idea of the pot, claims that it would take approximately 3-5 hours to fully charge an iPhone. The downside? I guess you would have to start a fire in order to power-up the pot, but I guess cooking a meal while waiting for help to arrive is a great way to pass the time.

Now if you’re worried about exposing electronic parts such as a USB port over a naked flame not to worry because thanks to a thermoelectric module the excess heat (which can reach up to 900°F) will be turn into power. If all that sounds like something you want to take to your next camping trip, the 16cm pot will set you back a cool $280.
