For the past month, we have reported that T-Mobile’s roadmap schedule had been leaked, and among the leak, a new phone called myTouch 4G slide was found. Several weeks later more photos of the device was leaked onto the internet, and today it looks like the device is for real, and it is now available for $199.99 for a new 2-year standard contract with T-Mobile.

The myTouch 4G Slide will be packing a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3 and Sense 3.0 and sporting a new 8MP camera that is supposed to feature zero shutter lag. Now HTC was never really known for their camera’s performance, in fact some would call their cameras sub-par, or even poor, so it’s interesting to see them pushing out a device that is touted to be an “advanced camera phone.

Below are the details about the camera’s features. If anyone decides to get their hands on the myTouch 4G Slide, we’d love to hear from you on how the new camera functions, and if it is really all they claim it to be.

  • Improved low-light Performance: with a backside illuminated sensor and a wide aperture lens (f/2.2)
  • Zero shutter lag: innovative software features allow for an instantaneous shot at that precise moment
  • SweepShot: for capturing panoramic shots by sweeping across an entire scene in a single motion
  • ClearShot HDR: for capturing objects in bright settings so your photos are not affected by high-contrast lighting
  • BurstShot: for capturing multiple photos in a quick burst so you don’t miss the perfect photo
