T-Mobile, WildTangent To Let You Rent Games?

Published

on

App stores generally have a return policy on games that you have bought and downloaded, generally providing a window where you can return the app and get a refund, but it looks like T-Mobile and WildTangent have something different in mind. They are introducing what essentially is a game rental service, and for 25 cents T-Mobile subscribers on Android devices can download a game and try it out for a day which will come with ads, and if the user decides that they want to keep the game, the 25 cents will be deducted from the games full cost.

This will also use T-Mobile’s new system where app downloads will be charged to the subscribers bill making downloading paid apps an easier affair, although pictures of angry and irate parents calling T-Mobile on app charges, no thanks to children with itchy fingers going crazy on the downloads. While this does seem like a pretty interesting service there is no word on when this service will be going into effect, so stay tuned.
