Samsung’s Smart View App

Normally you hear about smartphones that have HDMI outputs so you could attach your smartphone to nice 52-inch HD television and watch your shows on your smartphone from a big screen. In fact when the Xperia Play came out without HDMI output many people questioned that decision as it made more sense for a smartphone designed specifically for gaming to have a HDMI output.

Samsung, perhaps in an effort to set themselves apart, have launched a Smart View app for their smartphones which allows the opposite of what users are trying to do. So instead of trying to hook your smartphone up to your television, how about you stream what’s on your Samsung Smart television to your mobile device instead? Not only can users view what’s on the television but they can also access the Smart TV applications from the device itself.

In terms of compatibility, the Samsung Smart View app is now available in the Android Market for Samsung Smart TV D7000, D8000, and the D9500 series as well as the Samsung Galaxy S II and it will also be available for the Galaxy player some time in July, along with the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab later this year.
