Samsung Galaxy S Gets Gingerbread Update

Good news Samsung Galaxy S users, it looks like you weren’t forgotten as the update for your Android operating system is now available for download. Current users of the Galaxy S should be running on Android’s Froyo 2.2 unless they have rooted their device and installed an unofficial Gingerbread 2.3 update.

Official Gingerbread 2.3 updates are now available but it won’t be available OTA so you would have to download the latest Samsung Kies app and check for updates there. Granted this did take a while but at least it wasn’t as bad as the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 only getting the Android Eclair 2.1 upgrade now.
