Reva Bags, Fashion Meets Practicality

Here is something for the ladies, a bag that you can keep all your stuff in, your purse, make up, lipstick, tissues, your unmentionables, etc but at the same time it allows you to charge your devices while on the go, thanks to the solar panel that can be found in the front of the bag, as pictured above. The Reva Bag, as it is called, can apparently store enough power that it will let you fully charge your iPhone, Blackberry or Android device up to two times. That’s quite a lot considering that smartphones these days tend to drain batteries pretty fast.

As it stands the handbag version is the only design they have at the moment but if you were to help fund their Kickstarter project, some of that money will be put towards designing other kinds of bags, so maybe even bags for professionals or students, so it won’t just be limited to the ladies.

The technical specifications taken from their Kickstarter page:

Solar Panels: 1.5 W for small, 2 – 3 W for large.
Battery: 2800 mAh A123 + 0.5 F Super Cap.
Charge time in direct sunlight: 6 hours for small size, 4 hours for large size.

USB output: 2.5 W (USB Standard)
Compatibility (tested so far): Crappy Kodak camera, iPhone (all models), iPod (all models), Blackberry Bold, Moto Droid (first gen).  If the phone charges via USB, it should be compatible with the Reva bag.  The Reva bag conforms to USB standard power output.

If that sounds like something you can get on board with, then head on down to their Kickstarter page and pledge money to help them fund this creation. A pledge of $80 will get you the bag if and when the project is started and if you’re feeling particularly generous, a pledge of $1,000 will get you your bag personally delivered by the creators themselves anywhere in the continental US! Talk about dedication.
