Nokia Device Spotted Running Android?

First of all we all know that Nokia’s latest lineup will be featuring Windows Phone 7. Secondly Stephen Elop has admitted that at one point in time, Nokia considered making the jump to Android before settling on Windows Phone 7 as the platform of their choice. Thirdly we don’t know if this is an actual device or a hoax, but either way it does make for pretty interesting discussion.

The device in question looks rather similar to the Nokia N9 MeeGo handset that was announced a couple of days ago but instead of the MeeGo platform, it looks like it is running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3. We can’t tell if it’s just a skin or a theme or a hack, or perhaps it could just be a testing device that Nokia is using, perhaps they’re still toying with the idea of eventually joining up with Android?

Either way if you’ve ever wondered what Nokia could have looked like running on Android, here you go, although we would not put too much hopes into seeing that happen any time soon.
