iOS Lets You Buy New Text Alert Tones

One thing you have to miss about feature phones or other smartphones is that it’s usually a lot easier to change your ringtone or set a new message alert tone without having to go through a lengthy process. iOS initially did not let you change your ring tone unless you bought it from their iTunes store or went through a lengthy process to get a mp3 song as a ring tone, however the message alert tone has become so synonymous with iPhones that no one seems to use any thing else.

iOS 5 is looking to change that by offering you a chance to buy more alert tones for your iOS device so by clicking the “Buy More Tones” button it would launch the Ring Tones store within iTunes where you will be able to make your purchase. Not sure how happy some people would be at having to pay for their alert and ring tones but I guess we will have to wait until iOS 5 is fully released before we can make a better judgement. On the upside the alert tones should be of good quality and hopefully allow your iPhone to stand out among the others.
