So the long awaited day is here and Huawei has just officially announced the MediaPad in Singapore not too long ago and we can finally put the speculating to rest as the specs for the device has also been announced along with it.

The Huawei MediaPad will be running on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm, featuring a 5MP camera in the back and a 1.3MP camera in the front and it supports WiFi, 3G and HSPA+ connections. It also comes with preinstalled applications such as Facebook, Twitter and Documents and will be able to support Flash 10.3. Interestingly it also comes with Android Honeycomb 3.2, yes that’s right 3.2, which is the version of Honeycomb that was designed for 7-inch tablets in mind which means we may very well be seeing future 7-inch tablets running on Honeycomb and maybe even see existing ones get an upgrade?

No price yet but the device is expected to be available globally on carriers and retailers in Q3 this year. Huawei has been known for their relatively inexpensive offerings so let’s hope that this tablet will keep to that tradition and we’re also very curious to see what Honeycomb 3.2 will be bringing to the table on the MediaPad.
