HP’s “Pivot” App Hopes To Cut Through The Clutter Of Apps

If you’ve ever had a hard time navigating the app stores due to the sheer number of apps available or if you’re wondering how on earth did an app with 2 stars make it into the top 25 then perhaps HP will be able to solve that problem for you, assuming of course you are using it’s webOS TouchPad which is slated to make an appearance come 1st July. However having many apps isn’t a bad thing, it gives users more options although for those new to the app market may find it slightly overwhelming.

Critics have pointed out that HP’s TouchPad will not make it, at least not at the same level of Apple’s iPad or Android due to number of apps available, which they say numbers only in the thousands while Apple and Android offer hundreds of thousands, but with the Pivot app, HP believes that this will give them an edge. The Pivot app will act like a digital magazine where freelance writers and publishers will offer up written reviews and recommendations for apps, so that instead of relying on “Top” categories for making your decision, you will actually gain a better insight into an app.

Sounds like a pretty good idea if you ask me, I wonder how long it will be before Apple or Android picks up on a similar idea themselves.
