Google Update Gmail For iOS Browsers

Despite the native email app that comes along with the iPhone there are still people out there who would prefer to access their emails through the iPhone’s Safari browser instead and after seeing Google’s update to their mobile Gmail interface perhaps we can understand why.

Users can now refresh their email by pulling the page down to refresh, much like how you would pull the page down to refresh your Facebook news and notifications, a feature that is commonly found on many apps but it’s nice to see that feature make its way onto the browser. Surprisingly this feature has not made its way to Android devices but since not all Android devices are fully touch screen (i.e. the HTC ChaCha) we’re thinking that perhaps Google did not want to have any inconsistent user experiences across the various Android handsets that are available out there.

To be honest the web based Gmail interface is looking a lot better (and not to mention more colorful) than the iPhone’s native email app!
