Google Shutting Down Translator APIs

Published

on

Well those of you who have enjoying Google Translate on your iOS devices better make the most of it because come 1st of December 2011, Google will be shutting off the API’s. This is apparently “due to the substantial economic burden caused by extensive abuse”, at least that’s what they say on the official site. Perhaps this is an effort to protect Android and limit their translator for Android developers, however alternatively Microsoft’s Bing APIs are still free at the moment so perhaps developers can start looking over to Microsoft and slowly make the transition over.
