Gooapple 3G

It looks like an iPhone 4, feels like an iPhone 4 and even the thickness of the device coincides with the size of cases made for the iPhone 4, but just because it looks and feels like an iPhone 4 doesn’t make it an iPhone 4.

This is actually a shanzai device that is rather aptly named Gooapple whereby the makers of the device merged some of the features that made Android so popular with some features of the iPhone that made the phone such a hit to begin with. It pretty much resembles what both platforms have to offer, even offering support for mobile hot spots, games such as Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja and it even runs on 3G networks.

So what so special about it then? Under the hood instead of running on iOS it instead runs on Android’s Froyo 2.2 that has been skinned and themed to make it look like iOS but instead bringing functionality of Android such as multi-tasking and an apps folder.

iPhone users have been known to skin and theme their jailbroken iPhone’s to mimic Android and it looks like the tables have been turned. It seem unlikely that the device will be making its way to the US but if any of our readers who managed to get their hands on it, we would love to hear your experience! Check out their YouTube video for the product demonstration.
