Do you commonly miss out on missed calls or text messages because it so happens that the environment you were in was too loud or you did not have your phone with you and you neglected to check to see if anything new came in? Blackberry devices have no such problem with a flashing red light at the top corner of their phones which would alert them to a new message or missed call or even a Facebook notification and it’s a feature that while isn’t 100% necessary, but when we get used to it we wonder how on earth did we get by without it?

Well for Android users, thanks to XDA member rdude who has created an app called Flashing Alerts that flashes the LED to let you know when you have a new notification. Originally designed for the HTC EVO 4G, rdude has expanded the number of devices that would be compatible with his app including the Nexus S and has included support not only for messages or calls but also for emails (Google, K-9 Mail) and even Google Voice. If you want to get more information regarding the app just head on down to the thread.
