Find My iPhone is a great app to help locate your iPhone in the event where you might have misplaced it and put it on silent or when it gets stolen and the thief is not smart enough to turn off the device. The latter poses a problem when the device is turned off as the device will lose GPS and just disappear from Google Maps. Thanks to the update provided by Apple, one of the new key features may very well be the feature that you may rely on to get your stolen iPhone back.

As I said earlier turning off the phone essentially makes the phone fall off the map, discouraging many users who may have been trying to track their devices. Thanks to this new feature, an email will be sent to you the moment the phone comes back on, meaning you will get another shot at tracking your iPhone down should you choose to. Not exactly the most revolutionary update but it’s better than nothing.
