AT&T To Offer Free WiFi In NYC Parks

Published

New York city park lovers, great news because it looks like AT&T will be providing free WiFi access to more than 19 parks in New York city which includes Manhattan’s Central Park and Battery Park, and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. This free WiFi initiative will run for 5 years and will be free to all users, regardless of carrier, and it will be ad-free as well. No word on whether you will be able to use an AT&T phone for calling in the parks however, but still this is a pretty good effort on AT&T’s part, some corporate social responsibility, perhaps in a bid to get people to see their way in the impending AT&T-Mobile merger?

“We’re delighted to make this gift from all of us at AT&T to all New Yorkers,” said Randall Stephenson, AT&T’s CEO.
