Acer To Ship Out A Sliding Tablet?

Published

on

So we know that Acer has recently cutback on their estimated shipments of tablets, probably because compared to the other tablet makers out there in the market, i.e. Samsung, HTC, Motorola, ASUS, they just weren’t doing as well, not to mention the iPad 2 is the tablet to beat, seems like pretty stiff competition.

Well according to Digitimes’ sources within the supply chain, it looks like Acer may still have something up their sleeves, which is rumored to be a 10-inch sliding tablet running on a ARM-based processor and will be manufactured by Compal Electronics. Obviously Acer has yet to confirm this, so it’s probably best taken with a grain of salt, although it isn’t entirely far fetched.

ASUS has had tremendous success with their tablet, the Eee Pad Transformer with a detachable keyboard, so perhaps Acer is taking a leaf out of ASUS’s books and create something with a keyboard attachment too.
