10-inch Blackberry Playbook’s Details

If you’ve read our review on the Blackberry Playbook then you know that we loved it apart from a couple of minor things with regards to native apps, something we hope that RIM will be changing with either an update to their software or perhaps with their rumored 10-inch version of the Playbook. Now it seems that when the 7-inch version of the Playbook was released, rumors already started spreading about a possible 10-inch version of the tablet device which I think they were hoping to compete with the iPad.

Well apparently now it seems that a couple of details about what the 10-inch version will be bringing to the table, so perhaps those rumors might turn out to be true after all. Some of the changes we can expect in the 10-inch version is that cosmetic-wise we should be expecting a white version along with the black version of the Playbook, bezel thickness will also be reduced. It will be skipping on 3G but instead will be supporting 4G only – no word on whether a WiFi only model will be available. It will allow you to connect to BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) without having to rely on Blackberry Bridge, something for which we thought should have been part of the 7-inch Playbook to begin with.

No word on when we can expect to see this supposed 10-inch Playbook although some sources are pointing at a possible year end release. Until then, stay tuned.
