Yahoo Messenger On iPad 2 Gets Video Calling

Good news for iPad 2 users who frequently use Yahoo Messenger as the app has been updated to include voice and video calling features.  The app has also been updated, adding a native iPad UI. The new version also improves spam management for more easily blocking add requests and includes a number of bug fixes.

The app itself is free so those who haven’t gotten it yet can go ahead and download it from the iTunes store. Just make sure that your iOS has been updated to at least version 4.0 or later! Interesting with all these apps such as Viber, WhatsApp, Qik, Skype and now Yahoo Messenger offering free voice calls, video calls and messaging services, one really has to begin to question what the role of the carrier is nowadays.
